Number5
Nope, if was the word, my father allowed in his house, without getting taken to behind the wood shed. LOL LOL, With my Dad, it was either confound or doggone. Confound it! Give me the confounded thing! Doggone it! I'll be doggoned!
Three Run Homer
I'd love to get Davis for Britton but I can see why that wouldn't be enough for the Mets. Davis has struggled lately but has more past major league success on his resume than Britton. On the other hand, Matusz seems like too much to give up--Matusz was actually a very useful major league contributor last season, and like Davis does offer some upside beyond that. IMHO - Davis is the same type of "propect" as Britton....showed promis one year and hasn't been the same since
LookitsPuck
I'd trade Matusz or Britton for Smoak in a heartbeat.

I think that this would be a fair deal. In another thread weams pointed out that Britton is out of options. So the possibilty that he may be on the move is not surprising. terps19
Where does Smoak fit into the Orioles? Is this a move for a 1B once the Os are priced out of Chris Davis?
LookitsPuck
I think the writing is on the wall for Britton. Oft injured, terrible control. His WHIP has gone up every year. His 2 seamer is a mess. He's out of options and has no place in the bullpen or the rotation.

BillySmith
http://risingapple.com/2014/01/01/ike-davis-situation/ Here's a take on Ike Davis by a New York guy. Makes you wonder if someday Ike Davis would take over for Chris Davis. He's a plus defender according to the article with massive power. Sound familiar? Rick_Schu
I don't think we can give up any pitching at all at this point.

Maybe the O's could be working on a Butler deal? Would be awesome, but if the Os aren't giving up Gausman, Bundy, E-Rod, Harvey or Schoop, would they be able to make a package enticing enough to get him? I would assume they'd want a major league ready pitcher in return and I don't think we'd match-up for that.
Jagwar
Interesting. Maybe the O's could be working on a Butler deal? What's a better move for the O's... give up prospects for Billy Butler, or give up a middle first round draft pick for Morales?
PaOsFan
Just Britton; yeah i could live with that... but def not Matusz+ Britton if he can regain his rookie pose can be better for us as he is perfect ground ball pitcher for this team/camden yards. Maybe the O's could be working on a Butler deal? Doesn't make much sense to me. You aren't moving Hosmer off 1B and you'd trade away Butler and give up a pick to get Morales at DH, who would cost more and probably not hit as well? They'd have to be getting some good young SP for Butler.
