So you rather have Zach Britton or Steve Johnson starting over Matt Garza... get real real son.

Wish we could still do bets here at the OH. I'd bet that Britton makes more starts than Garza in 2014 and has at least two thirds of his numbers for a fraction of the cost.

You would really throw your money away like that?

I like Britton, but honesty am not holding my breath to see him get even one start after ST.

Therein lies part of the reason I'd like to fast foward through the offseason. It's a bunch of hype that never pans out and then you have to hear about EVERY SINGLE SIGNING that everyone else makes like it'd be our springboard to the AL East title.

People, hear me: The Orioles will never be major players in free agency as long as Angelos owns the team. Everyone understand that?

Angelos suffers from PTABS - Post Traumatic Albert Belle Signing. It's incurable and eats away at your brain, making seemingly logical moves appear Kafka-esque and horrific.

Pray Angelos is in a sensory deprivation tank when Arroyo's card gets called in the Warehouse...

If he's healthy, I think that's a very reasonable deal.

WTF!!! That is all it took and we weren't in on this????????????

My goodness....we are just friggin awful.

I made my mind up, I am skipping OD this year and going to the Nats OD, easier for me anyways. At least the Nats make their team better.

Man, I wanted Garza bad. Disgusting...

They still play the game on the field.

Year before last, the Nats looked very good, making the playoffs and looking like a solid contender.

They had what most would grade out, a very good off-season, and well, you know the rest of the story.

Best laid plans of men, don't always work out to their expectations.

However, at least, some will give them credit for trying to improve their team.

I'll take Garza # of starts > Britton # of starts in 2014 for $500 alex.

I would as well. I think most, other than isestrex (obviously) would. If you want to make the argument for Gausman, alright, I'll listen. I think Garza at 4/$56 is a solid deal and wish the Orioles looked into it. That said, there are still options out there and the price Garza got should be telling to the rest of the market.

They simply don't care.

If they cared they would improve through better signings. It's really that simple.

Even if they crash and burn.

    • Westburg shouldn’t be, where are you seeing that?
    • So since Westburg is apparently still ROY eligible, Cowser and Westburg may project to be the best rookie combination since Fred Lynn and Jim Rice in 1975?
    • There were several and I was one them. I'm  on record as saying I was one of his biggest Apologists . You should feel good about yourself as you were able to see that Means would be imploding before our very eyes( which was an opinion or a guess, which is what I did) as far as feeling bad for me? Dont I'm plenty good enough to know I wont be able to guess right every time
    • Fantastic pickup by Elias and big kudos to O’Hearn for taking advantage of the resources to improve. He’s a great story.
    • Given his injury history and what’s happening right now, Means may make more money as an Oriole next year than as a free agent. He may have to settle for league minimum as a FA but would do better than that in arbitration. Heck, unless he’s effective at least a little this year then the orioles might release him after the season to avoid paying more than league minimum. I hope Means recovers, very much so, but this scenario is possible imo.    ps. I guess I ignored the part where you said if Means thinks he is healthy.
    • What I'd like to see in the next game Holliday plays, is for him to keep his eyes following through on the ball when he swings. In the last game I saw, he was yanking his head off the zone when he swung and couldn't see the bat to the ball. He was missing wildly and it wasn't even competitive. So, keep your eye on the ball! Follow all the way through! If your swing is so violent that it's yanking your head off the sight of the ball, then adjust your mechanics because you can't hit what you can't see!
    • What a great example of pedantic! Please tell us you meant to do that. I honestly can’t tell these days.
