True, but for multiple positions. At least three, maybe four, depending on whether or not Manny is ready to start the season. Would be interesting to see if a team can really be competitive with three full-on platoons for a full season. I don't think we have a full-time answer at 2b, LF, or DH.

I'm all for signing Jeff, he's would be fine insurance to have as a utility man. I would be very excited to sign Ginger as well, though not many MLB teams use a double bass set, and at his age, he might not have much left.

I think Lough or Flaherty may be given the chance to prove if they are full time players or platoon guys, but I don't mind the idea of 3 platoons. It means those three guys stay fresh and the bench gets some time so they aren't rotting away. The guys winning the spots will need to be able to provide back-up positionally too, however.
