Any chance Ervin would take a 1 year deal?

How about Markakis, Matusz and cash to Seattle for Nick Franklin, Logan Morrison, and some other lower level players? Seattle has a lot of DH-types and that could be a good fit for us. Put Franklin to full-time SS in Norfolk in case they can't get something done with JJ. It frees up some cash for us, and would allow us more flexibility in other acquisitions.

I dunno...just throwing stuff against the wall here!

"Soon".

So you're sayin' there's a chance....

Soon rhymes with June.

I don't see why. Seems like the everyday lineup is pretty much locked in at this point, and four of them are lefties (plus Wieters, a switch-hitter). If the O's got someone like Ike Davis, when and where would he play?

All the bats off the bench appear to be right handed. With the exception of the back up catcher who they won't use.

I think they will pick up a closer-type. It could be a guy coming back from injury like Hanrahan or maybe they could trade some of their guys without options to a team like the Marlins. Maybe a deal for Steve Cishek.
