Note - I have no inside information, but I am trying to go 2/2 on lineup predictions here.

Nick Markakis - RF

David Lough - LF

Adam Jones - CF

Chris Davis - 1B

Nelson Cruz - DH

J.J. Hardy - SS

Matt Wieters - C

Ryan Flaherty - 3B

Jonathan Schoop - 2B

Flip-flop Hardy and Wieters and I think you have it. Buck loves to go R-L-R-L when possible. I think you might as well have Lough leadoff if he's going to be that high in the order, but Buck probably keeps Nick there.

In a way tonight's game is actually better than OD. OD day is great of course, a celebration of baseball. But tonight is the return to normalcy. Pregame at 6:30, 7:05 start time. The start of the marathon. Baseball is BACK baby!!!

Yup. Going to the game and the sun came out. What could be better? Winning the billion in the Warren Buffer NCAA challenge. But I think I did not get all my picks right.. :)

    • Yes I remember! For a while I even began to wonder whether his mid-90s sinker (unusual for the time) was going to become as legendary as Sutter's splitter or Rivera's cutter. Unfortunately he didn't have nearly as many great seasons as they did.
    • Frazier wasn't league average last year.
    • He got beat by a good pitch sequence his first time up.  Second time up he got fooled by three changeups in a row.    A three were down but he chased the last one clearly out of the zone. Got caught looking at a hanging changeup the third time.  A very hittable pitch except he was completely fooled by it. Last time up was against Kimbrel.  I think he fouled a curveball for the 2nd strike.  He must have been looking for another because he froze on a fastball waist high that caught a lot of the plate.  Not a good day.  Apparently has trouble recognizing changeups.  Kjerstad swung and missed at a knee high changeup but you could see that he recognized the next one and took it for a ball below the knees.  Not a good day.
    • Frazier is an $8 mil stop gap... nothing else. Because of the contract Frazier will end up getting way more AB's than he should considering that they have players that can replace him in the MiL's.   We've been over this before, so there's really no need in wasting each other's time here. They would not pull the plug on Odor for the minimum. What makes you think they'll limit Frazier's AB's?
    • He looked good.  The last batter is the only one who barreled him on a slider that was down and away.   The fastball was only 93-95 but you’d think it was 97-98 the way the hitters were reacting.   He overpowered Marsh who apparently isn’t good against LHP.  Their hottest spring hitter is Soto a RH hitter.  Got behind 3-0 and the kid tipped a 3-0 fastball and couldn’t catch up to a 3-1 fastball and swung and missed on a curve Hall buried in the dirt.     He threw some good changeups.  That’s the only secondary he’s got good control of.  He had good command of the fastball.  When he missed it wasn’t by much.
    • So? You have better options and Harrison could have been signed as your insurance policy. Less money, more versatile and came off a better year. No need to feel you have to play him a lot with the money he’s getting. Easily the better signing.
