This is exactly what churchill said

"Be surprised if a deal isn’t announced by Thursday. Don’t be surprised if a deal is announced officially tomorrow afternoon.

But they did remove him once. And he went back in. At the very least, the Mariners believe they are very close.

Still, the latest I’m getting is that McPhail wants a fourth player. Jones-Tillman-Sherrill on the table as the Mariners best and final offer.

Not sure whether the fourth player will happen or not, but it won’t be a premium guy like Triunfel or Clement."

Things have gone sour before, but I feel very comfortable right now about what is happening.

Yeah, no doubt about that. AM could still pull it back, right up until they announce the deal. But the smokes been building, the fire is cookin'. And most of us on here are not short sighted enough to throw stones at our connected friends when things don't go through. You guys (the Oriole insiders) have got to be getting a little weary. AM has been wearing us all out. Lets hope the same rings true for our trade partners.

churchill just said that jones/tillman/sherrill was the mariners final offer and there discussing a 4th player but triunfel and clement definately wont be in the deal.

Sometimes guys try to use the media to leverage a outcome. You can gloat if your right I imagine!:D

I'm not so sure of that.

Depending how long "for years to come" is, you may be right.

However, at least for the next couple of seasons, I think King Felix & Erikkkkkkkkkkkkkkk are as good as any top two starters in baseball. Get your team to October and you've got a real chance to go far.

Mock if you wish, but Bedard in Seattle just feels like a good fit to me. I know he hasn't pitched well in Safeco (in a small sample size), but he's going to pitch great ball for you guys and he's a joy to watch. I think the city and the pitcher may prove to be a good match.

Well if that Jones/Tillman/Sherrill + another excluding Morrow/Triunfel is correct, I really hope the "another" is Balentien. I'd rather him over Chen.

I doubt Balentien would be in the package. The Mariners have zero outfield depth now and Wlad is the only guy near ML ready. With Jones gone we have Ibanez who is really a DH, Ichiro and ??? No one. The rumors that we would be after Wilkerson is a joke.

Outside of Balentien, the only decent prospect we have coming through is Saunders and he is probably 2 years away at least (if at all).

No kidding. We deal Jones, our outfield is as thin as it gets. Not a good position for a team trying to overtake the Angels.

    • Westburg shouldn’t be, where are you seeing that?
    • So since Westburg is apparently still ROY eligible, Cowser and Westburg may project to be the best rookie combination since Fred Lynn and Jim Rice in 1975?
    • There were several and I was one them. I'm  on record as saying I was one of his biggest Apologists . You should feel good about yourself as you were able to see that Means would be imploding before our very eyes( which was an opinion or a guess, which is what I did) as far as feeling bad for me? Dont I'm plenty good enough to know I wont be able to guess right every time
    • Fantastic pickup by Elias and big kudos to O’Hearn for taking advantage of the resources to improve. He’s a great story.
    • Given his injury history and what’s happening right now, Means may make more money as an Oriole next year than as a free agent. He may have to settle for league minimum as a FA but would do better than that in arbitration. Heck, unless he’s effective at least a little this year then the orioles might release him after the season to avoid paying more than league minimum. I hope Means recovers, very much so, but this scenario is possible imo.    ps. I guess I ignored the part where you said if Means thinks he is healthy.
    • What I'd like to see in the next game Holliday plays, is for him to keep his eyes following through on the ball when he swings. In the last game I saw, he was yanking his head off the zone when he swung and couldn't see the bat to the ball. He was missing wildly and it wasn't even competitive. So, keep your eye on the ball! Follow all the way through! If your swing is so violent that it's yanking your head off the sight of the ball, then adjust your mechanics because you can't hit what you can't see!
    • What a great example of pedantic! Please tell us you meant to do that. I honestly can’t tell these days.
