I understand the concern over the approach overall. I just don't get the need to voice it when a guy gets a pitch he can drive early in the count and attacks it. You wouldn't hear a word from me if it were a weak dribbler and the same thing was said. Taking pitches and working counts is a means to an end, it's not an end in and of itself, which I think sometimes is the attitude I pick up from some on here (maybe I'm wrong).

The difference between 1-0 vs 0-1 counts are huge. OBP after 0-1 is .261.. after 1-0 .383. Constantly swinging at every first pitch assures you're OBP is going to be closer to .261 rather than .383. Absolutely nothing wrong with swinging at "your pitch" if you get it first pitch, but otherwise make em throw the strike. See a few pitches.
