Not sweeping anybody while getting swept twice (once of which was a 2-game miniseries with the Mets) will make your overall record worse than your series record.

Hence the 8-7-1 series record, but the 23-26 overall record.

Regardless of the outcome of today's game, the Orioles will have lost a series to the Astros for the first time since 2003.

In their previous 7 series, the Orioles had gone 6-0-1 against the Astros, who had swept the Orioles in their first-ever head-to-head match-up of the two teams.

Although they lost a series to the Astros for the first time since 2003, the Orioles salvaged the final game of this 4-game set.

Although, the Indians gave us every chance to sweep the series on Saturday when Oriole pitching gave them 14 baserunners (7 walks and 7 hits) in the first 6 innings of said game, of which they only scored 2 runs.

The failed sweep, which was punctuated by a nonexistent offense, was somewhat of a microcosm of the first 1/3 of our season ...... decent, but far from good ...... a series win, but a failure for FULLY taking advantage of the situation by only taking 2 out of 3 instead of 3 out of 3.

Make that 13-10 over their last 23 games ...... including sweeping 2 games from the Yankees, in New York.

Perhaps the Jennings experiment wasn't so crazy after all. Anyhow glad they helped us out tonight and last. I think the Yanks are going to crash hard. Tex and A-Rod can't hit like this forever and their starters outside of Pineda do not inspire confidence and who knows about Miller.
