We don't need a bat. We need the bats we have to produce.

They seem to be producing at about the level you would expect. They lead the league in home runs, which was expected. They have been a middle of the road OBP team for the last few seasons. Middle of the road OBP usually correlates to middle of the road run production, which is where they are. Davis and Hardy are hitting a few less homers than you would expect. But for the most part, every hitter on the team is hitting about where they should be.

This offense is just absolutely pathetic. In the last 5 games they have scored 1 run in the first 5 innings of games. 1 run in 25 innings. They don't even give the team a chance to win half the time. Just an embarassment. 1-14 since Steve Pearce's double. 2 base runners in 5 innings against a guy that had allowed 49 base runners in his previous 28 innings. This O is a complete joke. Get rid of Manny, Schoop, Joseph. They're all awful.

You don't have to be called a whiner or a negative nellie when being exasperated by todays offense. The start by Chen was bad enough, but this yet ANOTHER example of the Orioles being owned by a guy who has been banged around(including by us) all year. Manny's first pitch swinging is getting old, the pop ups and the lack of an ability to adjust makes it so much more frustrating. Of course, it does happen in baseball.I get that, but this teams' continuous lack of aptitude especially early in a game is being exposed. We really could've used this game today. Tomorrow is going to be even tougher.

Chen was a league average lefty and our offense was dazzled by Erik Bedard. Amazing.

We are being two hit by Erik Bedard.

Who (a) was once traded for three players who have since become All-Stars and (b) Palmer has been describing all afternoon as a master of changing speeds.

This is the 6th start this year that Bedard has allowed 1 earned run or less.
