I don't see how Nolan can help anyone. He is an injury waiting to happen. He has

not had one healthy season in his career and now that the BJ's picked him up you

worried? Sorry, I don't believe there is anyway He helps that team. IMO

This isn't reactionary on my part.

Extremely talented ball player that I do not root for and would not root for.

Similar comments from me exist on this board if anyone wants to look for them.

I believe you. I thought that might be the case. I will say though that many people have some skeletons in their closets that might not be as evident as those which Delmon caries with him every day of his life. I do not support the things that either of these people have done off the baseball field. Nor do I feel good about some of the things I know about that are not front page of the sport section news.

What will bother me the most about this move is not if he's successful' date=' but if he stays healthy. We have been paying to rehab him for what, 7 years? Couldn't he have pulled a Pearce, refused the assignment and came back to us to play in the minors? Show some recompense for those that were with you through the rough stuff.[/quote']

O's have paid Nolan less over the last seven years then they paid Wada.

I can only know what I know about.

For instance I knew about the pillow case two years ago.

Why can't he? Sure, he is hurt a lot. But it's not like you're talking a large sample size. It has been just a few seasons. So with that in mind, it's inconceivable that he actally put together an injury free season or two??

I said it before it was the Jays who claimed him and I'll say it now. He's a guy that is going to be a real weapon. Now, he's a Jays weapon. He has legit .800 OPS potential. He has speed. He has power. He has patience at the plate. Heck, it wouldn't shock me to see him become something of a Jose Bautista-lite (less power, but more speed).

The Blue Jays GM makes a ton of waiver claims. This was intentionally done to mess us up. Reimold likely would have cleared the NL and the Blue Jays were the only team that wanted him. Don't be surprised to see him DFA'd again in the next week or so. The GM games are starting to get played. The Yanks just got Mccarthy. Oak stole Samardzja away from Toronto.

The Blue Jays have been linked to Frenchie. Would you rather have Nolan or Frenchie?

Yes' date=' I don't like that nor this. We could have released him, especially after the last injury and who would have picked him up then?[/quote']

It is possible that the O's best move would have been to non-tender him this offseason.

Would have been grade A heartless but very possibly correct.

If we would have DFA him when he had the neck injury in spring training instead of putting him on the DL, he would have passed through and we could have kept him.

He was a insurance policy. And when he could not go thi spring, he was expendable.

    • So since Westburg is apparently still ROY eligible, Cowser and Westburg may project to be the best rookie combination since Fred Lynn and Jim Rice in 1975?
    • There were several and I was one them. I'm  on record as saying I was one of his biggest Apologists . You should feel good about yourself as you were able to see that Means would be imploding before our very eyes( which was an opinion or a guess, which is what I did) as far as feeling bad for me? Dont I'm plenty good enough to know I wont be able to guess right every time
    • Fantastic pickup by Elias and big kudos to O’Hearn for taking advantage of the resources to improve. He’s a great story.
    • Given his injury history and what’s happening right now, Means may make more money as an Oriole next year than as a free agent. He may have to settle for league minimum as a FA but would do better than that in arbitration. Heck, unless he’s effective at least a little this year then the orioles might release him after the season to avoid paying more than league minimum. I hope Means recovers, very much so, but this scenario is possible imo.    ps. I guess I ignored the part where you said if Means thinks he is healthy.
    • What I'd like to see in the next game Holliday plays, is for him to keep his eyes following through on the ball when he swings. In the last game I saw, he was yanking his head off the zone when he swung and couldn't see the bat to the ball. He was missing wildly and it wasn't even competitive. So, keep your eye on the ball! Follow all the way through! If your swing is so violent that it's yanking your head off the sight of the ball, then adjust your mechanics because you can't hit what you can't see!
    • What a great example of pedantic! Please tell us you meant to do that. I honestly can’t tell these days.
