No clue. But the average NL ERA is .28 runs lower than the AL. Kennedy's FIP, xFIP, and SIERA suggest his ERA should be around 3.00. A .28 jump from there is still under 3.30. His current ERA is 3.59. A .28 jump from there is 3.87. Still a huge upgrade for the staff.

You have made a good argument.

How is 3.87 a huge upgrade? 5 of the 6 starters have an ERA at or below 4.15.

Ian Kennedy for Eduardo Rodriguez ,Tim Berry and another low level player Get's it done. I'm OK with this caise Kennedy would be here in 2015.

That is pretty much the difference of being 12th in the MLB in team ERA and 25th. Only 2 starters have an ERA below 4. Gausman, who is probably good enough to stay that low, and Norris whose peripheals are awful. Besides, as pointed out, Kennedy's peripheals are outstanding and suggest he's been much better than his actual ERA. Orioles starters have a habit of over performing their peripheals. If Kennedy could perform to his peripheals he'd be an ace. If he over performed then, he'd have an ERA below 3.

He hasn't pitched more than 7 innings all year and has only pitched more than 7 innings once over the past two seasons. That is not an ace.

Some of this is NL ball too. A couple times he got PH for in the 8th inning.

Which of our current SP would he be an upgrade over? Who does he replace? He won't have a sub 4.00 ERA in the AL East.

And you know this how? The Orioles think he'll be a upgrade over someone why else scout him.
