Is Andrew Miller a must sign. I believe so. He can get both righties and lefties out and has filthy

Nobody thought B.J. Ryan would be the B.J. Ryan the Jays got. Pitchers, and especially relievers, are fickle.

B.J. Ryan was the greatest lefty reliever since Randy Myers, until he wasn't. Randy Myers was the greatest lefty reliever since Jesse Orosco, until he suddenly wasn't.

The latest report today says the Yankees are the front runner to get Miller over the Dodgers. This would make sense since his wife's family is from North Carolina and they would probably just get on a train to visit. Easier to go there than to California. It wou be great if DD would use some of the Markakis money to sign him. It's amazing how popular Miller was with the fans. Lights out ever ytime he came into a game. Of course he would be popular. Sign him!

It is pretty easy to become popular when you come in and get everyone you face out.

If it were me, I would sign Miller for closer money...And make him the closer. Move Britton into the rotation and deal from my surplus of starters. You never know, Duquette surely has some kind of a plan, doesn't he?

Britton isn't going to be a successful starter with his stuff. He was basically a one pitcher last season. That would get you destroyed as a starter.

He certainly would have to pitch differently as a starter. But there is no doubt in my mind that Britton can be a good starting pitcher with his stuff. Wallace and Chiti would need to work with him for sure, but Britton is a horse with a dominant sinker.

A horse with a bum shoulder.

You think his shoulder can hold up to starting?

I actually think being the closer is harder on him than starting. And remember, Britton really did not fail as a starter. His shoulder failed. Last spring he was obviously healthy and throwing great. And he threw great all year long. I do not think his shoulder is a concern any more. That is just my opinion.

Pitching in relief with one pitch is hard enough. Starting with one pitch seems damn near impossible.
