Hickey says no announcement before Friday:

For one thing, as of 1 p.m. (PST), Bedard was still at home in Ottawa, and it's not at all clear when he will be en route to Seattle. It's possible he won't travel until Thursday.

And the physical exam that's going to be needed before he can be cleared and the deal for Adam Jones, George Sherrill and three minor league pitchers can go through won't happen before late Thursday afternoon.

That means no announcement will be made before Friday, if then.

I just hope that McPhail knows the pieces that are coming back and has already has parameter discussions with Angelos around a Roberts to Chicago deal so that if they decide to trade Roberts, it happens quickly and there is not a long, drawn-out drama that drags into ST.

I'm confident that this has happened but history will be the ultimate judge.
