Dan Duquette mentioned that Chris Davis had a very strong arm today.

Any notable 1B on the FA/trade market? I can't imagine any scenarios where Pearce is the number one option there. Maybe a backup position for Wieters in case catching doesn't work out?

Christian Walker has power and defensively has to be better than Mark Reynolds.

Olney did a write up on our biggest focus at the Winter meetings

3. Baltimore Orioles: At least one outfield masher (really, they could use two)

Baltimore set the standard in the American League East last season, winning the division by a whopping 12 games. But the Orioles have a ceded a whole lot of that ground in the early offseason machinations, with the departure of the AL’s top home run hitter Nelson Cruz and Gold Glove right fielder Nick Markakis, who reached base 243 times last season.

Sure, the Orioles' expectation is that Manny Machado will be ready to play in spring training and that Matt Wieters will return after having Tommy John surgery next fall. Steve Pearce, who established himself as a regular midway through last season, will be penciled into the every-day order as the Orioles open camp, and it’s possible that Chris Davis will bounce back after a miserable 2014 season. But as other AL East teams address their problems and holes this winter, they are seeing an Orioles team that could take a big step back unless solutions are found. The Baltimore lineup needs help.

Dan Connolly has a look at some of the top outfield targets available. The Orioles have limited interest in Norichika Aoki, writes Roch Kubatko.
