McNamee injected Mrs. Clemens with HGH

Recommended Posts

Now this is a whole new level of ridiculousness:

Brian McNamee told congressional investigators Thursday that he injected Roger Clemens’ wife with human growth hormone, according to a source with knowledge of McNamee's testimony.

The source said McNamee believes Debbie Clemens took growth hormone to get in shape before she appeared with the pitcher in Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue in 2003. She appeared with her husband in a photograph taken in Central Park in the magazine’s Feb. 18, 2003 issue wearing a bikini and holding a bat over her shoulders while Roger Clemens reclined on the ground in his Yankee uniform.

"McNamee discussed his wife's use before the committee," according to the source. "She was trying to get in shape for the SI cover. He told them the story that Debbie took growth."

It seems to me that steroid injections would have made more sense for Mrs. Clemens than HGH -- the effects on body fat reduction are better documented and she wouldn't have needed to worry about either getting busted with a urine test or suffering from long term steroids abuse. I can see her getting hyper about the pending photo shoot and seeking chemical help from McNamee to boost her workout regimen and develop a "ripped" physique. Women can be more obsessed about things like that than men.

Naturally, Roger's lawyers are ridiculing this story, but it very well could be true.
