Not being paranoid or a conspiracy theorist, just asking the question. Beyond the obvious screw job by MLB for the 2016 all-star game, are the O's being targeted in other ways for breaking the honor code and taking a club vs club dispute outside the confines of MLB and into the courts? Toronto announced their interest in Duquette immediately before the winter meetings, even though they aren't even allowed to make contact with him unless given permission from Baltimore, which they hadn't yet requested. Duquette is essentially neutered at the winter meetings. A month later Toronto informs MLB that Duquette is their top choice for club president, even though their current president has announced he is returning and Angelos has publicly declared that Duquette isn't going anywhere. Why would Toronto do that, unless they are trying to poison the Angelos/Duquette relationship and pressure Angelos to relent? And Rosnethal.....he reports that some anonymous people in the O's organization would like to see Duquette go. Then later he says that there's an "uncomfortable situation" because Duquette is aware that some in the organization would like to see him go. Pretty ridiculous to single-handedly create the uncomfortable situation and then report that there's an uncomfortable situation. We can't seem to execute a trade or signing with anyone this offseason. External influences are trying to poison the front office and extract Duquette from Baltimore and install him with a divisional rival. Just asking.....is there a little inside baseball going on beyond the all-star game snub?
