Toronto looking for New President to be Duquette.

If the O's and Jays can't get a deal done now why would waiting for next offseason be any different? Duquette would still have years left on his contract. Yes, it would give the Orioles more time to make the adjustment. Are you saying that the compensation required at that time would be less?

Right now the Orioles are weighing holding the impact of keeping a GM that wants to be elsewhere with the issue of having to replace a GM on short notice at a critical time of the year (start of the season). It is rather clear from the way the organization has responded so far that they view the impact of losing their GM at this junture to be much greater than holding onto a potentially unhappy GM. Given that, they would potentially want significant compensation. Next October, if they have already identified potential replacement(s) and have a little breathing room before the off season gets fully under way, they might not weigh the impact of losing their GM relative to keeping a GM that doesn't want to be here as lopsidedly as they do now. If that's the case, yes, they might accept less compensation for him then they are willing to accept now.

Right, the Orioles have Duquette under contract. They don't need to do anything except accept or refuse an offer.

Unless they think having Duquette around when he wants to be in Toronto will be a distraction. Its been reported some in the organization feel that it already is an issue. In theory, they could get to the point where they think it is better to have him gone (for fair comp) rather than keep him around. In that scenario, they might be inclined to make a proposal.

Another article from the Jays side. One thing that jumps out at me is how they call out their own team for this mishandling of this whole thing. That certainly isn't happening in the national media. Instead the Orioles must duck tail let the Jays have their way!

Rogers called White Sox executive vice-president Williams — without permission — and then called White Sox owner Jerry Reinsdorf, who is Beeston’s best friend.

Now we're starting to hear of some proof of tampering. Just not yet with the Orioles. But I have to assume that if he called Williams directly he probably did the same with DD. We shall see.

Well, I'd tend to agree but who is they? Last I checked PA has the controlling interest and he's the one who needs to be convinced.

I see your theory. And I think that an unhappy Dan is the least of anyone's worries.

I'd rather see them give Brian Graham the job on an interim basis than hire any of those guys.

That is a ugly list.

That list of candidates is all kinds of awful. Please, please, no.

Is it because those guys are not currently working with an emmin effin ball club as a GM right now?

Its easier to find guys you'd want when you start at the top of employed, successful, award winning GMs and work your way down apparently.
