$5-6 million is about as high as I'm comfortable with going for a reliever now. Darren O'Day's 3 yr, $9.5 mil contract was perfect. Ryan Webb at 2 yr, $4.5 mil contract is pretty good, despite him not making the playoff roster. Houston signed two manageable contracts with Luke Gregerson (3 yr, $18.5 mil) and Pat Neshek ($2 yr, $12.5 mil) although they're pushing it. Zach Duke at 3 yr, $15 mil looks appropriate though I don't think he's a stable reliever.

The odds are much more in your favor having three capable relievers at $4 mil each than one possible stud at $12 mil and two scrubs. Chances are, one or maybe two of them are duds in the first scenario... while the second scenario is all-or-nothing.
