Personally, I don't think Davis and Wieters is going anywhere next year. Davis more so with this hiring.

Well, Davis is a "untouchable" for trading right now in baseball circles except in SD who are throwing everything against the wall to win the offseaon title.

It's better. This guy was his hitting coach when he had some of his best years in the Rangers farm system. Loving the Coolbaugh hire for that alone.

I looked at Renfroe's 2 year minor league stats and his numbers are solid but certainly not Griffey Jr like. He had a solid season and is a little young for his level.

Here's the thing with Davis ....if you think he has attention issues and needs Adderall and now he's already been cleared his bounce back potential is really high... As bad as Davis was last season he still hit 26 bombs and had a .700 OPS. With the exemption he will almost certainly be at his three year average and post 35+ homers.

The Padres are obviously in win now mode and the Os might as well build take advantage of it. Take Renfroe and a lesser player....maybe take Smith as well and send something back on our end.
