He was terrible last year but no such thing as a bad minor league deal. Ugh, misspelled the name in the thread title. Help me out Mods!

Not a bad move.

Probably a better (slightly) version of Lavarnaway. If Wieters cannot catch right away, I have no problem with Arencibia splitting the time with Joseph and then possibly moving to a PH/DH role.

Getting on base is overrated. Also, it's a minor league signing so if you're looking for a reason to not care, that's it, not his OBP.

They are not looking at him for his catching skills. Would think he would be in competition for some time at DH.

The new hitting coach must have really pitched him hard because he sucks.

No wonder I remember him as a dangerous power hitter. Looking at his stats - particularly a bad lifetime OPS+ of .79, he's a poor hitter. But it can't hurt to look.
