New Manager Candidates?

I am not suggesting that Buck Showalter should be replaced but if Dan Duquette ends up with the position in Toronto, I could see a situation where some combination of persons already in the organization, including Showalter, handle the GM responsibilites this coming season and Buck steps into the full-time GM role come November?

We've heard many on here, including SoxHotCorner, talk about how much of a micro-manager DD is and the same has been said about Buck. They've shown on TV his whiteboard with the entire organization's depth chart, how he knows what is happening with almost every player in the minors and that he keeps up to date on this information on a daily basis.

If this scenario plays out, who do you see as strong manager targets for 2016 besides John Russell? Anyone else seeing this scenario as a distinct possibility?

Buck's path to the HOF is as a manager. And he is not there yet. So I think he stays a manager for a while.

If Buck is gone that guarantees the next guy goes to the world series right?

1996 - Joe Torre won WS in his 1st year after Buck

2001 - Bob Brenly won WS in his 1st year after Buck

2010 - Ron Washington lost his 1st of back to back WSs but took until his 4th year but still replaced Buck

Sadly I was thinking the same thing...
