Brady Anderson.

He knows the game and he'd implement a health/workout regimen that might keep our guys on the field throughout the season.

MSK

I think Brady is probably destined for the front office. I was trying to think of a former player who might fit in the manager role but couldn't come up with anyone. How about Billy Ripken?

I think I'd rather just find someone with prior managerial experience.

The list of former O's players who I always thought would make good coaches or managers for the team some day includes Brady Anderson, B.J. Surhoff, Mike Bordick, Mike Devereaux, Jeff Reboulet, Ben McDonald, Chris Gomez and Kevin Millar.

The funny thing is I made that list years ago, and since then, Brady, B.J., Bordick, Devo and McDonald have come back to assist the team in some capacity.

I would think if Buck had to take over GM duties that this late in the game Russell would be named interim manager for the season.

My premise would be that Buck remains the manager for this coming season with some sort of role as part-GM. I meant that after this coming season was over, Buck would be elevated to the GM role for next offseason. Of course, John Russell would be highly considered since he's the current bench coach. I like the ideas of Gardenhire & Hale. Of course, there will be names coming up on a "Hot List" as this coming season progresses.

Pretty sure this is his role now, and one of the reasons DD would like to go to TOR.

I am not suggesting that Buck Showalter should be replaced but if Dan Duquette ends up with the position in Toronto, I could see a situation where some combination of persons already in the organization, including Showalter, handle the GM responsibilites this coming season and Buck steps into the full-time GM role come November?
I can't see Buck becoming a GM. He's far too involved with the actual games and his players to be a GM. I hope no one replaces Buck.
