Can_of_corn
I think Britton. I just don't think the O's would be so intractable over that small an amount of money.

I'd rather go to arb with Zach than Pearce. Save more in the long run.
Frobby
It's an overpay, IMO. But I like Norris' fiery personality, so it's good to have him coming to spring training focused on helping the O's to win.

MurphDogg
I'd rather trade him after next season. Ok, same deal. Get more value in the trade if his salary is lower.

Besides, if you are gonna get his value up to 16 million for next year's Qualifying offer you need to start at least that high

waroriole
Ok, same deal. Get more value in the trade if his salary is lower. Yep, but with teams moving away from paying for proven saves, he may not have much trade value anyway.
BohKnowsBmore
Yep, but with teams moving away from paying for proven saves, he may not have much trade value anyway. Britton isn't just a saves accumulator, though. His results were filth-nasty last season, regardless of your opinion on the save rule.
ArtVanDelay
I'm skeptical on us offering Chen a QO, I'd be floored if Bud got one. Why? I'm sure somebody will offer Bud 4/50 next offseason if he has a solid year. I'm sure he'd rather have 4/50 than 1/16.
weams
I'm skeptical on us offering Chen a QO, I'd be floored if Bud got one. Chen is a BORAS client. If he takes it, he'll be the first. And Scott won't permit that. And when Bud wins 17 games this season he will be set for a QO. He thought he was worth 11 this year.

I'm hoping we can get him to 6+ IP/start this year while maintaining last year's ERA.
