Great thread drop. :)

I don't think we'll ever know what was really going on with this situation. I feel that DD wants to leave but was locked in by his contract and then PA and the gang tried to force Toronto's hand by asking for too much.

Now DD is stuck in a gig he "may" not want while the rest of the FO has to be on eggshells in 2015. I truly hope that they can get past this in order to focus on making the team the best it can be. This clearly distracted DD from doing his job in improving the team.

I have a feeling DD won't be the Orioles' GM in 2016.

I disagree with you. To me there really wasn't a FA that was worth what it would

have cost. The O's are still a good team and will win the East. IMO

That's fine. There's also trades.

I'm not in this thread to argue, I'm just saying that the situation might be more screwed up than we'll ever know. Distractions can really twist up a team. See ARod. lol

I am so proud of the fact that we have an organization that never gets into those AROD situations. Or even Chicken and Beer.

Former Orioles assistant GM Kevin Malone joined the Glenn Clark Radio show Jan. 2 and said things might be a little uncomfortable for Dan Duquette now, but it's all partof the process. http://www.pressboxonline.com/2015/01/27/former-orioles-assistant-gm-weighs-in-on-dan-duquette
"I have to say, though, that Peter Angelos was always great to me, and he treated me very well. He wanted to win. He confided in me.

"I have special memories of the Orioles and the fans there. They're the greatest fans, and have one of the greatest stadiums there in Camden Yards. It's a special place."

Any concern about Duquette remaining focused on winning and doing his job after flirting with the Blue Jays for the last month and a half?

"None whatsoever," Malone said. "He's a professional. He's, if not the best, one of the top three or four general managers in the game of baseball executives. He knows what he's doing; he always has.

I don't think A-Rod was responsible for the Yankees being outscored by their opponents each of the last two seasons. The Yankees actually overperformed the last two season despite the ARod "distractions".
