I think he could benefit from it, especially when he's ahead in the count with two strikes. That's going to be an extremely difficult pitch for a hitter to sit on.

Good example and they're patient. So, work ahead and pitch to your strength not theirs. Although, there is some adjustment for every team and whether he uses two or four seams will have an effect on pitch selection as he becomes more comfortable.

You need to have some command, and you need to be able to generate the right kind of spin. You want to have a fastball — a four-seamer — with a high PITCHf/x vertical-movement reading. That’s not the way pitchers themselves think about it, but that’s how we can understand it.

No, it doesn't and learning how to best take advantage of your arsenal is sometimes comes through experience. He needs to take another step this year.
