Glad he got that wedding out of the way. Good value.

If Gonzalez wins the Cy Young Award in 2015, he'll have much bigger concerns (positives ones) than reminding Pete that he owes him that $50,000 bonus.

Thanks for the details, by the way.

He'll probably get $3.3 Million, presuming that he pitches more than 185 innings, and gets the two $12.5 thousand bonuses.

Outside shot at getting an additional $50 K for making the All-Star team.

Congrats Miggy! Dude deserves to get paid. Two playoff starts in three years and pitched well enough to win both games. It would be a shame if he spends any time in the bullpen or AAA.

Very happy they got this done. Next year, after DD leaves, will be discussing how the Miguel signing was one of the best moves of his abbreviated tenure.

Johnson says. "I didn't know anything about him when he showed up. The first three times I used him, I put him in with the bases loaded, nobody out! I must have been a horrible manager. He must have thought, 'He's doing this to me on purpose.' I had no choice; I had no one else.

"First time, he carves up 'em up. I thought, 'Whoa.' Second time, he carves 'em up. Third time -- I'm thinking, 'He can't do this again' -- he carves 'em up again. Buck called. I told him, 'You have to get a look at this guy.' So they called him up, and the rest is history. This is a Cinderella story to the max."

with all the pitching talent, there is literally no way he makes the AS team, simply because he isn't a "name"

Tillman made one. How much does Yost like pitching wins? (It helps that a bunch of pitchers opt out every year)

Yeah, as a matter of course they exclude anyone who started a game on the Sunday before the ASG from participating, so sometimes they have to go pretty deep to actually fill out a team. Anything's possible.
