Reimold could make an impact if healthy

Not really since we are looking at him as a 24th-25th player not a starting outfielder.

I will also say that Hardy has three seasons, as an everyday player, with a rWAR under 2. Including a .2 season with the Twins.

I can remember the msg board that I was on, couldn't believe the Orioles was wasting their time with Hardy.

I image, OH was probably the same response.

I wonder if this isn't the opening day lineup:

BALTIMORE O RIOLES O

Nolan Reimold - LF

Steve Pearce - RF

Adam Jones - CF

Chris Davis - 1B

Delmon Young - DH

Manny Machado - 3B

Jonathan Schoop - 2B

Ryan Lavarnway - C

Everth Cabrera - SS

Chris Tillman - RHP (13-6. 3.34 ERA)

Just a hunch, but I don't see Davis starting on OD. :)

Agree with CoC. Especially when Reimold is playing so well and brings three things to the table the lineup needs: speed, OBP and hustle. (and hustle can be infectious) There have been players to overcome being seemingly injury prone, Paul Molitor comes to mind.

You are correct. It isn't.

The difference is that Hardy was a good player who made a contribution while he was injury prone. Reimold has only played in more than 40 games twice in his career. The fact that we are still talking about Reimold being part of the equation represents a bigger problem
He has had a nice spring, has a good eye, and owns right handed power as a tool.

He stepped back some comments in the power thread.

I think he has the potential to be an asset.

Maybe you're right.

I'll delete my post ...... although, he also has a long way to go to get into the green, too.

One more time. It makes no sense to add Reimold to the OD 25 man roster. He has 5 years and 2 days of service time. If he starts the season, plays well, and sticks on the roster all year, he's a free agent after the year. If Reimold is ready to contribute, he can rake in AAA for 2-3 weeks at least. The Orioles should be the beneficiaries if Reimold is able to put a good season together.

I don't see the big deal. He already came back as a free agent once. No reason to think he wouldn't next year.

He hurt his neck diving into the stands for a catch he came up with. Had fusion surgery that didn't take had to have it again... This surgery took and he is playing well with no limitation. You can't write a guy off that has played well, remember how hot he started before he got hurt? I think he could be that player again... Give him a shot to play like he has played in the past and how good he has played this Spring.
