Aristotelian
I thought Caleb Joseph would be considered a lock for the backup C position...then saw this highlight of Lavarnway with the strike-em-out-throw-em-out. <iframe src='http://m.mlb.com/shared/video/embed/embed.html?content_id=41100183&topic_id=69972428&width=400&height=224&property=mlb' width='400' height='224' frameborder='0'>Your browser does not support iframes.</iframe> http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/69972428/v41100183/torbal-lavarnway-catches-k-throws-out-travis/?query=lavarnway So hmmmm...this actually could be an interesting story to keep an eye on this spring. I love what CJ brought to our team last year. I still have to think for morale purposes it has to be CJ's job, but with a short leash, but rationally if Lavarnway can bring this kind of defense, he would not have to do much to outperform CJ offensively. What does he have to do this spring to get the job? We also shouldn't count out Ward who also has a very strong reputation defensively.
Crazysilver03
I don't think there is much to watch. Joseph is on the 40 man roster. Ward and Lavarnway would have to be added. To remove Lavarnway he would have to be DFA and could be claimed or refuse assignment. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
El Gordo
I think Caleb is a lock because pitchers like throwing to him and he's a good defensive C. If some one else is added it is because he has a bat, and Wieters isn't ready to do more than DH.
