2015 New York Yankees

OFFNY

Yankee pitching is getting rocked again. 10 - 0 TEX and were only in the 3rd inning. The Yankees gave up 10 runs to Texas yesterday as well.

Hope CC's neck is alright. One can get whiplash getting knocked around like that.

...and they took it out on the Royals 14-1. :noidea: :beerchug1:

The story of their season so far is obvious. Alex Rodriguez (and Mark Teixeira) are OPS+ing over 150. Completely unexpected. Suspect cheating.

They should both wear down as the season progresses.

In spite of the umpire doing everything he could to help him, Teixeira wound up going 0-for-5 with 3 strikeouts on the day ...... and his batting average for the season dipped down to .239.

Sounds like he'd make a good Oriole. Oh wait, he could have... never mind.

If we can't win it, I would root hard for ANYONE ELSE to win but the Yankees.Even the Jays(but not THAT hard).

The Yankees have played surprisingly well. Their offense has been much better than I expected, second only to Toronto in run scored. They've stayed relatively healthy on offense, with the exception of Ellsbury and now Beltran. If they stay healthy the rest of the way, they may be tough to catch.

I think it's borderline insane that the Yankees are scoring the second most runs/game in the majors. Especially because they're getting so little from Stephen Drew (72 OPS+), Didi Gregorius (72 OPS+) and Chase Headley (89 OPS+). AND they lost a significant amount of time from Jacoby Ellsbury.

Alex Rodriguez is 39 years old and sporting a 147 OPS+. Is this a tribute to his greatness? Maybe all the time off helped him? Orrrr.... and he deserves the question... is he still on the juice? If, heaven forbid, he's caught, should the Yankees potential post season be revoked?

No reasonable person would think a fine, upstanding young man like Alex Rodriguez would do anything untoward. You shouldn't punish the team for any potential transgressions. It's not like the Yanks would do something so devious as receive all the benefits from PEDs knowing all the while that a failed drug test would save them from paying an insane contract while freeing up cash to sign other free agents.

Oooh... I like that.

Manfred seems to be open to just about anything. While not a bad thing by any means, I have to wonder how much of it is just lip service?

"expansion, sure, i'm open to that."

"banning the shift? Oh yea, I'm open to that."

"moving the draft? Hmm, you know what, I am open to that."

"changes to the All Star Game? After some consideration, we are open to that."

It's better than the alternative sure, but we'll see what actually happens.

Yea, I shouldn't get drawn into that. Many or most of his things he's open to seem poorly-considered. Like banning the shift, which would probably be the most fundamental change to the rules of the game in over 100 years.
