Do the Orioles need to find an outside replacement for Wieters even if it's early on? Or are you content with Clevenger/Joseph/Lavarnway/Arencibia?

I rolled my eyes because I'm more than happy with the people we have in house. I'd prefer to trade Matusz for a low level single-A prospect.

Not if he will be back by the fisrt week in May or so. A guy at work is saying the draft sites think he will only miss a week or so.

I think he will be back by early May and don't think they need to bring in another catcher.

Isn't Navarro an offensive catcher? Just the kind of catcher Buck doesn't like.

I think a battery of Joseph/LaVarnway or Clevinger is fine for now. Much rather trade Matusz for one of the rule v pitchers so we can keep both in the system.

Navarro is good enough defensively to start in this league - a positive dWAR and a 28% CS rate.

However:

1) He's a Blue Jay. We're not on the bet of terms right now, not to mention it's in-division.

2) What is Navarro going to do when Wieters comes back? Clog up the DH spot? Someone else would have to go.

3) A four way trade? And this makes sense? Please.

He's also making 5M. Not a huge sum but something worth noting.

Also, Buck loves Joseph. He is the prototypical back up Buck wants. The Orioles won't trade Matusz for someone they will DFA once Wieters comes back.

I liked this idea too but it has been discounted on numerous threads. We could only trade for them if they pass through waivers first.
