Anyone else worried about Garcia facing lefties?

He is afraid of them. It looks like he pitches them cautious. I think he can learn to handle them. That is his flaw right now though. Major league righties are not a real problem for him. Kinda like O'Day two years ago. Or Matusz. If lefties were 80 percent of the population.

Besides the homer to Drew I haven't noticed a problem. Seems like his slider has deception against both sides. I would like to see the velocity higher though. I am afraid of miss located 93 mph fastballs.

The bases loaded day, he walked the two lefties.

Evidently his velocity is improving.

He has a beautiful repeatable, effortless delivery. He's a lot of fun to watch.

If he is in AAA then he shouldn't be worried about dominating AAA hitters he should be worried about getting his innings in and throwing his slider.

Like Tillman did to establish himself after many trips back to the minors while he had options.

One thing for sure. They don't win by sending their best pitchers to AAA. Gausman can't help the O's win from Norfolk.

It is about roster management. You are planning for 162 games. You think that if Gausman doesn't start for the team in April that dooms the season? He isn't someone with 200 innings under his belt like Tillman. Teams are building depth for the long haul of the season right now. They don't hand out prizes for who had the best April.

Gausman still had some thing to prove at AAA last year. He has done that. He is a major leaguer now.

Games count as much in April and they do in September.

Teams do not manage their roster the same at the start of the year. You need depth.

Gausman has nothing to prove at AAA. The point of him being there is to get his work in like you said.

Gausman pitched well, out of the bullpen in the playoffs.

Also, Gausman's second half wasn't any better than his first half. For those trying to say he finished strong or was turning some corner, that's just not correct.

Again, if he really IS THAT GOOD, he should dominate AAA hitters, right?

So, anyone who's been promoted to the ML has always dominated at AAA???
