Good command although he ran up his pitch count more than he should have with many 3-2 counts. That's really picking the nits though. As JP noted his FB had tremendous movement from the armside, about six inches at times, and from the 3rd inning on his splitter was working too. Occasionally he dropped in the breaking ball but mostly this was about him commanding the FB. I never saw him get above 91 mph but if locates like he did today he should be fine. Of course that's an incredibly big if with his track record. Who knows, maybe the new mechanical adjustment has begun to pay dividends. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
