Early this season, Orioles pitchers are doing a bad job of preventing walks from scoring, while the offense is having trouble scoring walks. Five Blue Jays walks scored today, for example. Hopefully, this changes as the season goes on.

I don't think the O's are really struggling to score runs. They scored 19 in 3 games against the Blue Jays. I think the problem is consistent starting pitching. I missed the game today, (sleeping after working all night), but I assume Tillman had control problems.

This team needs consistent starting pitching to win. We can't out slug the Blue Jays.

I was worried Tillman would be off today. He doesn't like pitching on extra rest. I wonder why Buck didn't pitch him yesterday and Ubaldo today. I doubt if it would have effected Ubaldo.

Ubaldo I believe, historically, pitches very poorly during the day and on Sundays.

I have never heard any evidence that shows players performing differently on different days of the week.

That's all I'm saying.

It's not quite that simple. For example, the O's won a game where they allowed 5 runs, then lost a game where they allowed 2.

Opposition walks are killers all right. However, it is difficult to win many ball games when the defense allows 4 unearned runs. Very uncharacteristic Oriole baseball.

I don't know what like's got to do with it. Historically, he hasn't pitched any worse on 5 or even 6+ days of rest than he has on 4 days of rest.
