Gar fixed things. Edgar Martinez replaced Howard Johnson as the Mariners hitting coach today, and the M's promptly hit three home runs on the way to a 6-3 win over the Astros...including one by Cruz. The home run was his only hit, but he also had a walk.

2 HR so far in July which is already better than his performance in June.

Not that it's helping out the M's too too much, they still have a putrid offense, 14th in the AL in runs scored, ahead of only Chicago.

It's hard to argue that Cruz wouldn't have helped us this year. But the decision was never about this year. Meanwhile, despite our recent slump, we are ahead of last year in runs per game.
