So yea, no surprises I imagine to anyone, other than perhaps at how much Toronto has improved with run prevention. They have really turned things around.

Amazing how close the NY and Baltimore are in those stats, yet the O's are 9 games behind the Yankees

Amazing how close the NY and Baltimore are in those stats, yet the O's are 9 games behind the Yankees

Pitching wise yea we're close, but they've scored over 60 more runs than us this year.

You might say it's amazing at how tight the division race is between NY and TOR when the Jays have a +215 run differential and NY's is +88.

Season ending update.

Here's how we ended up.

New York - 4.72

Boston - 4.62

Some comparisons to 2014:

We scored 705 runs in 2014, 713 this year.

We allowed 593 runs in 2014, 693 this year.

Our team ERA was 3.43 in 2014, 4.05 this year.

So clearly we regressed pretty severely with pitching/defense, however we also fell back comparatively in our division offensively speaking (705 Runs Scored last year was good for 2nd best in our division).

So the moral of the story imo is that we really need to get better with pitching, but we don't want to have the 4th best offense in our division next year either.

Yup. This was mentioned numerous times before but it's worth the reminder. That one stretch in late August killed the season.
