Anyone worried about Pearce yet?

Aside from the first two games of the season, he has looked pretty bad at the plate. I didn't think he would be prone to such slumps because of what he has shown as a pretty solid approach at the plate in the past. With that said, he seems to be trying to pull everything right now and really susceptible to the breaking pitch.

Pearce and Machado are the only ones in the lineup really struggling right now, but I feel a lot better about Machado than I do about Pearce.

We all hope so, but I don't know how you can say that with such confidence. His track record is one good season (at age 30).

I've been worried for a while that last season was his 'magic' season. Pumpkin reversion in progress, agreed.

I'll be worried when the calendar flips to May and he's still hitting below .220

Even though he had a hot spring he could just be a career starter. As of now his career OPS in March/April is .605. Followed by two high .800 months. Pearce will be fine.

He's certainly playing like poop right now, but he's also well below even his career averages, let alone 2014. He'll bounce back, even if it's just as a pretty good bench guy.

He's being fooled a lot at the plate. He needs to adjust or he will continue to see less fastballs and more offspeed pitches.

I expected this to happen so, no I am not worried. He will finish the season with better averages than his current slump indicates.

Lots of people said the same thing when Davis was struggling. "He'll be fine." We see how that turned out.

Too early to worry about things like this, BUT the sloppy play and pitching overall are disappointing to say the least.
