Let's Play a Clean Game Tonight and Tomorrow

Really hoping that Ubaldo and the rest of the Orioles play a clean game tonight. The Blue Jays want nothing more than for this team to get distracted by "unwritten rules." The Jays have no track record, no playoff appearances, and no history of any kind of success since the early 90s, so they'd love to drag the Orioles into the gutter because it's the only thing they can hang their hats on right now. Don't take the bait, O's. Time to stop throwing behind people and just play baseball, please.

Garcia needs to worry about making it through the season on a Major League roster, which isn't looking likely right now, rather than on "being an enforcer." Ubaldo should hopefully be focused on continuing his pitching excellence, not on plunking people (FTR I don't think he hit Sandoval intentionally, hoping he doesn't hit anyone intentionally tonight). Same goes for everyone else on the team -- including Adam Jones who should be a leader.

Nobody benefits from this ugliness. It sets a horrible example for young fans, and doesn't win you any games. Let's stop it tonight.

Buck did everything he possibly could to de-escalate this, by (1) talking to Garcia on the mound immediately after the incident, (2) taking Jones out of the game, and (3) being very charitable towards Bautista in his post-game comments. He clearly does not want our team to get distracted, and focus on playing good baseball.

The last thing we can afford is having a player hurt because of retaliation. Great job by Buck trying to defuse this, but I highly doubt we've seen the end of this.

Ubaldo needs to be on his game tonight or things could get ugly quick in a multitude of ways. We also need to change up our signs and do a better job of hiding them because we all know how the Blue Jays operate in Toronto.

This is a situation we can't take Buck for granted. Look at the circuses in Toronto and KC because Gibbons and Yost can't take true leadership roles.

Good points. I am confident Buck is doing whatever is in his power to keep this under control. It's on the players now to take his advice...

Non Sequitor, but am I the only one who thought the A's were the much worse team in that thing? Lawrie's slide was cleats up at a guys knee. (Dirty) Cain was hit after Lawrie had been hit "correctly." (unrequired retribution).

As for this thread. Cleaner game, bu the team is just not playing well right now. Terrible at bats.

The DeAza play was brutal. I don't have that much issue with the at bats tonight. We need to clean up the base running. Trying to steal 3rd in that spot is dumb with any hitter but with a lefty power bat even more foolish. Clear throwing lane for the catcher.
