A few stats that will make you feel a little better

It's still early but....

Although we are dead last in team ERA we are 15th out of 30 teams in BAA.

Although we are seventh in the MLB in runs scored, we are third in OPS.

Four of the top seven teams in run scored are from the AL East.

A couple things to take away from these numbers: Our pitchers need to get their walks and homeruns allowed down and our bats need to hit better with men on base. Some better luck probably wouldn't hurt as well.

They just need to blow out the Red Sox or something. I think it'll help with confidence and create a spark.

Everyone keep saying hitting isn't a problem and I agree that pitching is more of a problem right now, but I'd like to know how are we doing at situational hitting. What's are avg with guys in scoring position? When do we get most of our hits? After the game is almost out of reach? It seems that we Don't jump on pitchers right out of the gate and make them go to their bullpen early.

The other teams in the East got better. We had the best team out there last year, but we got worse over the off season. This season probably won't be as fun as last year. It's a shame the arbitration stars aligned last year and we weren't willing to spend a bit more, but we should still be in the mix of it.
