Where does the Orioles' 18-run assault on the Boston Red Sox April 26 rank among the franchise's highest-scoring games of all time? Paul Folkemer breaks it down here.http://www.pressboxonline.com/2015/04/27/a-look-at-the-10-highest-scoring-games-in-orioles-history

very nice work there Paul

I was shocked that four of those seven 18 run games came in late April.

Nice piece. When I get home and get access to both bb-ref and my old reprint of the 1895 Reach Guide I'll have to see how many times the 1890s Orioles topped or approached these numbers. In the Reach Guide they actually break down record in games for each team into double-digit runs and single-digit runs (like today you see the records in extra-inning games, or day games or whatever). There were so many runs scored in that era they'd say something like "the Orioles were 44-15 when scoring 10 or more runs."

Fascinating piece. I remember number two quite well since Cal had six hits that game and even Mussina got in on that action. I don't remember number one as well perhaps because the team was eliminated by then ain contrast with the Braves game which was mid season. Yesterday's game was fun to watch.
