Would you like to have a player with these stats?

756 PA, 678 AB, .286/.345/.482, 112 runs scored, 29 HR, 106 RBI.

Right now, those are the numbers for the Orioles as a team.

Granted, 756 PA is a wee bit higher than a full-time player might expect; 726 was the highest in the AL last year. But even if you scaled the cumulative stats back by 10% -- say 680 PA, 610 PA, 101 runs scored, 26 HR, 95 RBI -- that would still be a hell of a player. The O's have been raking!

The Orioles have been beating up on some bad pitching staffs recently. Let's see how the offense does against the Rays this weekend before we start thumping our chest.

Good pitchers normally suppress offence. Koji and Samardzija are not weak pitchers. Now Colume? He is a roider SO I have no doubt that he will go all Clemens on us.

But it's comforting the only pitchers we've faced are our division rivals and Jeff Samardzija...still just one non-division game on May 1st.
