Cabrera not knocking those two balls down in the last week really and having a .456 OPS are really all I need to see from him.

MLB teams usually look at a much larger dataset when making decisions.

I agree.

Roch mentioned Cabrera wasn't 100% and was probably going to the DL or AAA to make room for Flaherty.

He was insurance and depth and he can provide that from AAA.

Comparing him to Cabrera doesn't really make sense for this season. Maybe next year. But for this year he's not better than Hardy or Flaherty and. No need for a strictly IF utility guy. Now next offseason I see him beating out Cabrera for a bench spot because of contracts.
