Wallace/Chiti's advice may lead to the Majors for Mychal Givens

We should all be aware of Mychal Givens adjustment. It may put in the Majors in the next year. There has been a change in his results. And the O's major league pitching brain trust are behind what is happening with Givens.

2nd round draft pick Mychal Givens' 95 mph fastball in at Bowie. He has 22 strikeout in 14 IP. His 0.61 ERA and his .818 WHIP may get him promoted to Norfolk mid season if he can keep doing it. With O'Day and Hunter eligible to become FA this off season, there may be an opening for Givens in the majors.

Will be interesting to see DD's moves wrt the bullpen this offseason. Do you pay for certainty with O'day, Hunter, etc OR go with some of the AAA guys at league minimum?

Wright, Johnson, Givens, maybe even Wilson will all be knocking on the door and could likely give 80-90% of production for less than $2m combined.

On a contrained budget, could be a better decision to let the FAs walk, and use those $$$ to sign Davis/Wieters/etc.
