The fact that Snell signed for this little, Montgomery still sits, and we have a hole in the rotation (to start the season) this big (I’m sorry but Irvin is not a starter on a team with legit WS aspirations) leads me to believe that until the ownership transfer process is complete there will be no more moves/spending. The best we can hope for is probably the deadline at this point.
But the good news is that the first 2 months of the season are our easiest (schedule wise) by far. Hopefully Bradish and Means can heal up by June.
It comes down to this. Some players that are ready for the majors are going to AAA. When injuries or non performance happens at the major league level AAA players get promoted.
If the O's come up short on pitching Elias has players to trade for more pitching.
It’s nice to have a lot of young talented players but my goodness the never ending debate about the infield and who plays where is absolutely exhausting.
They don’t matter for established vets.
They matter to vet guys trying to make the team.
They matter to the young kids trying to make the team although how they carry themselves in all ways matters a ton too.
More than stats though, how do they look doing it? Are they getting lucky? Unlucky? How is the pitchers arm looking? Is it building properly? Are the batters taking good at bats or do they look lost? Lots of factors involved that don’t come across purely in numbers.
