I’ve yet to see anyone anywhere say this is a good idea. Which probably means it’ll get implemented. They’re trying to broaden the reach and rope in new fans while ignoring what the diehards enjoy. But hey, let’s decide a 4th quarter NBA game with a dunk contest. -
These days Commissioners explicitly work for the owners, so it's not like they're screened for critical thinking and backbone. Figure out a way to last longer than say Fay Vincent, and it's a lifetime gig. Slavish devotion and refined media skills really play so watch this turd of an idea get skillfully laughed off and forgotten about by New Year's Day. -

The concern with Sasaki is he won’t sign until mid January and the starting pitching cupboard will be pretty barren by then. I’d look to add Buehler before the winter meetings and try to add Sasaki or Bieber in January.
