O's only play to win when feel up to it. No effort in the 2-1 loss to Philly. Now tonight absolutely no effort against the Blue Jays. 11 players are thinking about their contracts for 2016, they are just passing thru this season.

Hah. Thanks for the laugh.

I'd negative rep you, but so far as I can tell you didn't break any board rules. But even before the Orioles came back, this post was complete and utter garbage.

The guy is absolutely right. He could say the Jays are lizard people satan worshipping crack addicts and I'd like "Mm hm.. mm hm.. that's a fact."

You got Blue Jays smack talk? Is it questionable in terms of facts and "actual truth"? Then you've come to the right place, my friend. Any and all slander is welcome.

I hear that Blue Jays players eat the feces from the stadium restrooms, it boosts their testosterone.

Postgame, Hunter says, "if there's such a thing as making a statement in a loss this was it."

Yes, I get it, the Orioles made late rallies in the 8th and 9th. If it weren't for Hardy (with bases loaded) and Davis (1B and 3B) failing to deliver with runners in scoring position, we may be talking about a win.

However, we're also talking about a game where the Orioles were no-hit through the first 7 innings. We had four baserunners in those innings, all by walk, with only two advancing as far as 2B. Exactly what statement did we make? That we could get to their closer? Cecil is 1-3 and last night was only his 5th save in 25 appearances. We scored 1 ER in 7 innings against their #5 pitcher. To me the biggest "statement" that the Orioles made came from Tyler Wilson, who stopped the bleeding from Wright's 4 out performance.

I understand that Hunter's trying to put a positive spin on things, and is not supposed to gripe and complain. However, Hunter continues to be the most insufferable apologist, and it frankly insults the intelligence of the viewer.

I agree. Too homer for my taste.

And for the record, it is only 9 free agents to be now. But I am sure a die-hard like yourself would know that.

The only "statement" I saw was lacklustre defense and hitting a whole bunch of bloop singles. It was a pretty poorly played game.

Oh, and for the record, I think every Oriole that singles to right should lolligag on their way to first, and try to get Bautista to blow out his arm again.

    • Fantastic pickup by Elias and big kudos to O’Hearn for taking advantage of the resources to improve. He’s a great story.
    • Given his injury history and what’s happening right now, Means may make more money as an Oriole next year than as a free agent. He may have to settle for league minimum as a FA but would do better than that in arbitration. Heck, unless he’s effective at least a little this year then the orioles might release him after the season to avoid paying more than league minimum. I hope Means recovers, very much so, but this scenario is possible imo.    ps. I guess I ignored the part where you said if Means thinks he is healthy.
    • What I'd like to see in the next game Holliday plays, is for him to keep his eyes following through on the ball when he swings. In the last game I saw, he was yanking his head off the zone when he swung and couldn't see the bat to the ball. He was missing wildly and it wasn't even competitive. So, keep your eye on the ball! Follow all the way through! If your swing is so violent that it's yanking your head off the sight of the ball, then adjust your mechanics because you can't hit what you can't see!
    • What a great example of pedantic! Please tell us you meant to do that. I honestly can’t tell these days.
    • Well it certainly doesn't look like he'll be winning Rookie of Year award. And if we send him down for like the tiniest amount of time, we get him for another year, right? I think if this poor hitting continues it's financial mismanagement not to send him back down. Grayson got sent down and came back way better.
    • He certainly isn't a bust but I wasn't happy with the pick at the time and I don't love using the second overall pick for that type of player profile. Westburg signed for slot so he's irrelevant but Mayo was a great use of the money saved.
