My first run through:

9 seeds - Arkansas, Kent St, Oregon

10 seeds - South Alabama, Davidson, St Mary's

11 seeds - Kansas St, Baylor

12 seeds - Western Kentucky

Kansas St is the only seed higher than 5 i have reaching the sweet 16.

I have K-State and South Alabama in the sweet 16. Those are my only double digit seeds.

I have USC and Butler in the sweet 16...However, if K ST and SA win against those teams, i agree they will be in sweet 16.

No respect for Wisconsin or Tennessee.

I think Stanford is overrated, and at first I was inclined to show some bias and go with Cornell. But I couldn't get around the fact that I watched two Stanford/UCLA games, and the Lopez twins could probably beat the whole Cornell roster by themselves. Cornell's guards are probably comparable or better than Stanford's though.

Yeah like I said I haven't had as much chance to do my research as I normally do (tracking down the tennis coach for interviews will do that ;)), so I'm basing this almost solely on what I know of Cornell, since I don't think I've seen Stanford play at all this year. That one in particular is likely to change as I get home tonight and go through the USA Torday/NY Times/Baltimore Sun/Washington Post capsules like I do every year (I find those four to be easy to navigate since they're made for more casual fans, yet often there will be a tidbit or two in there that affects my decisions).

I'm with you on Wisconsin and Tennessee, also Memphis, I have Mississippi State taking them out in round 2.

John Calipari will never win a big game..I still can't figure out how he outcoached Big John in the '96 Elite Eight.

Siena over Vanderbilt.

Siena over Vanderbilt.

Siena over Vanderbilt.

I saw Siena live this year (when JMU beat them, yes, I know, not a ringing endorsement) and they are really good.

Hasbrouck and Ubiles are a really good backcourt.

Book it. Siena over Vanderbilt.

Actually, JMU beat Siena. So it's even worse for them.

That backcourt is good though.

They are beating Vandy.

And we aren't talking about the Hoos bean. Not until November.

No Hoos, sorry. At least they're still alive in the CBI!!!

The UMBC over GTown pick is interesting...Obviously, there is a slim chance of that happening and maybe Tank would have had GTown going out in the second round anyway, so he figures what the hell.

However, if GTown has a lot of guys from the BMore/DC area( i am not sure if they do or not), you would figure some of the guys on UMBC would have played against them in the past...So they shouldn't be that intimidated by them.

They can't control Hibbert but Hibbert plays very sloppy sometimes and if they take it to him and get him in foul trouble, you never know.

Exactly. I was taking Davidson into the sweet 16 regardless and I really think UMBC has a chance, however slight. It might be smarter to just play it safe and have Georgetown win that game, but I'm going for it anyway.

    • Fantastic pickup by Elias and big kudos to O’Hearn for taking advantage of the resources to improve. He’s a great story.
    • Given his injury history and what’s happening right now, Means may make more money as an Oriole next year than as a free agent. He may have to settle for league minimum as a FA but would do better than that in arbitration. Heck, unless he’s effective at least a little this year then the orioles might release him after the season to avoid paying more than league minimum. I hope Means recovers, very much so, but this scenario is possible imo.    ps. I guess I ignored the part where you said if Means thinks he is healthy.
    • What I'd like to see in the next game Holliday plays, is for him to keep his eyes following through on the ball when he swings. In the last game I saw, he was yanking his head off the zone when he swung and couldn't see the bat to the ball. He was missing wildly and it wasn't even competitive. So, keep your eye on the ball! Follow all the way through! If your swing is so violent that it's yanking your head off the sight of the ball, then adjust your mechanics because you can't hit what you can't see!
    • What a great example of pedantic! Please tell us you meant to do that. I honestly can’t tell these days.
    • Well it certainly doesn't look like he'll be winning Rookie of Year award. And if we send him down for like the tiniest amount of time, we get him for another year, right? I think if this poor hitting continues it's financial mismanagement not to send him back down. Grayson got sent down and came back way better.
    • He certainly isn't a bust but I wasn't happy with the pick at the time and I don't love using the second overall pick for that type of player profile. Westburg signed for slot so he's irrelevant but Mayo was a great use of the money saved.
