I predict we keep delaying the inevitable by either optioning him or having him rehab some more.

But would you do that? I think if it were me personally I'd be ready to part with Young or Pearce in order to get Schoop on the roster.

The way Flaherty (and the team) has been playing, I am in no hurry. I'm fine if they activate him, and fine if they wait a little while they try to sort out the roster.

I wonder if the fact that the O's are facing a lefty pitcher tonight factors into the decision. Maybe the O's want to give Young one last hurrah in the starting lineup before they jettison him. On the other hand, activating Schoop would allow them to give Flaherty a seat against the lefty.

Knowing that they have to add Gausman on Thursday makes me think they delay on Schoop. If they added Gausman and Schoop they would have to move two players off the 25 man roster. No sense in making the crunch worse than it all ready is.
