Couple of Observations -Agree or Disagree - How I See It!

Obviously, this team has gone into the worst offensive funk of the season and it seems to coincide with Jones returning to the lineup. When he was out, the entire team was hammering the ball. I think Buck may need to sit Jones again. Perhaps unconsciously, they all thought once he was back they didn't all need to compensate for his absence.

Second, Chris Parmalee doesn't impress me. Why has he supplanted Davis at first. If he doesn't start looking more like a major league hitter, send him back down or on the bench. I would rather see Lowe in the lineup and Davis back at first.

Third, Flaherty has reverted back to the ole Flaherty. Waay past time to get Schoop back in the lineup, especially against tough LH pitchers.

Fourth. Wieters looks to be in a terrible slump. He can't even make contact on a 93 mph fastball. Time to give him some days off.

So to recap, bench Jones, Wieters, Parmalee, and Flaherty. Get Schoop, Lowe and Lowe and Reimold or Snyder in the lineup. At least for a game or two.

I don't think Jones being in the lineup is hurting the other eight hitters.

I think Matt hasn't had this much rest since he was in college and that Caleb isn't hitting either.

I've wanted Schoop back for almost a week now and I don't get the Parmalee obsession either.

Wieters is getting plenty of rest, maybe too much as far as the bat goes. Jones isn't hitting but he's not alone, and he could well be playing hurt. Flaherty got the hit that broke up the no no, drew a walk that let Manny bat, and scored on the HR. If that's reverting I hope he continues to do so. Schoop may or may not be an upgrade but don't expect him to be a game changer. We've got one game changer on this team, and that's Manny. Too many role players.

Logically I agree with you that Jones being back in the lineup shouldn't be hurting the 8 other hitters, but they all seem to be emulating what he has been doing (with the exception of Manny) and that is swinging at bad pitches, falling behind in counts, and not having quality ab's. Perhaps they see him struggling and doing this and they subconsciously start doing the same..? They say hitting is contagious, so shouldn't the opposite be true? Their leader is looking terrible at the plate and so now is everyone else

For the record, Manny, Davis, Paredes, and Hardy, have all been hitting well the past 2 weeks. And Caleb has been hitting well the past one week. So all are not emulating Jones consciously or subconsciously. :rolleyestf:

"Obsession" with Parmalee? How about your obsession with hating him?

He had an opt-out and gave us a nice spark. Small sample size. He looks a lot more comfortable than Jones and Wieters.
