Could the Orioles bring back Jim Johnson?

Dan is looking for another late inning reliever. Could former Oriole Jim Johnson be the guy he trades for. I think it is an interesting idea. Thoughts

Very unlikely that Atlanta would trade Johnson now that Grilli is out for the year.

I always figured they signed both of them with the intention of flipping them at the deadline.

True. But I don't think they thought they would be so competitive. I thought more recently they would trade Grili and install JJ as closer.

Did Grilli get injured? I didn't see that. Johnson has been having a nice comeback year. But if Grilli is injured, then it's not going to happen.

I believe that J. J. will be a free agent after this season. We could try for him at that time.

They are already five back in the WC race with five teams they have to climb over including the defending champions.

If they aren't dealing him to try and cash in on his bounce back year they're idiots. Relievers are volatile as a group from year to year and Johnson has shown as much in his career. I wouldn't mind acquiring him to help for the remainder of this season, but I'd be wary of holding onto him come next year.

I'm very happy that JJ is having a bounce back season. If we chase a reliever I think it'll be a lefty.

We were close to signing him. We chose Chaz Roe instead. S bit of a different look. J.J. is in the NL too,
