I think those games with NY and Tampa will be pretty key to whether we are buyers at the deadline or not.

If the O's play the 2nd half of July the way they played the 1st half of July they don't have to worry about trading at the deadline because they will probably be 10 out with too many holes to fix.

If they at least break even like their 44-44 record implies, then they can be buyers and try to improve of that record.

Theie recent play is a real concern.

I can't see why we shouldn't trade the guys that won't be back next year for prospects or guys with 3-4 year contracts who might fit in well NOW. Davis,Norris,Matusz,Pearce or trade for the money to try and sign Weiters O'Day, Chen etc.

In that case, I will still be worrying about the trade deadline because we should be looking to be sellers if things go that way.

I tend to agree with you, but I don't think getting a shutdown reliever or another role player is going to put us over the top.

So 13 games before the break. For our situation to change either way we'd have to go 10-3, or 3-10. I think I'll go with 7-6. We maybe pick up a reliever. But we'll probably here about the August 31st deadline being what's best for us.
